Third Annual Vintage Hickory Invitational set for May 2nd, 2015
Local Newsie Durel Billy of the APNational Hickory Players Golf Association has more great news to share. The Third Annual Vintage Hickory Invitational will be played at the Meadow Park Golf Course in West Tacoma, Washington. Even better, the Vintage Hickory Invitational is part of Meadow Park Golf Course’s Centennial celebration.
Durel wrote us, “The APNational Hickory Players Golf Association is presenting another centennial celebration at Meadow Park Golf Course located in beautiful Lakewood, Washington. The Meadow Park staff approached us a year or so ago about hosting their centennial celebration. Of course we accepted, every centennial at a golf course should be celebrated with wood shafted play!”
Meadow Park is a municipal course ran by the regional parks district. The twenty-seven hole facility is a perfect layout and ideal for hickory golf. According to Meadow Park G.C.’s web site, “designed by acclaimed course architect, John Ball, the course has been a fixture in South Tacoma for nearly 100 years.”
The fun includes a hickory golf demo, a golf antique and memorabilia show and awards for best vintage apparel. It all starts Saturday May 2nd, 2015 with a 9:00 a.m. check-in and a 10:00 a.m. start.
The deadline is April 24th. Register online at apnationalgolfclub.com or print out the flyer below, fill out the entry form at the end of the flyer and mail it, plus your check to P.O. Box 3357, Federal Way, WA 98063
